MINISTRIES OF OIKOS
Connection
In Africa there is a saying, “Rain does not fall on one roof alone.” Meaning: Challenges are universal and affect everyone, not just individuals. Studies and our personal experiences show that connection and community are where hope and healing are built. We connect people to churches, job opportunities, recovery and more so that our people not only find healing, but they become agents of healing for others.
The new dreamers, leaders, hope seekers and healers.
Our students are becoming leaders. They may have grown up in tin shacks and unimaginable poverty and circumstances, but today many are thriving and others are on their way.
Our people are now personal trainers, coaches, church leaders, business owners — and they are making a difference inside and outside of their communities.
We connect with our people… sometimes in secret.
Our goal is to equip and present our students and graduates to the whole world. They are connecting with people that have different cultures and skin tones (and it’s amazing to watch). But there is a myth among the tribes that a “white person” must be connected in order for it to work or be successful. We are breaking that myth with every step we take backward leaving them in the front. It’s truly exciting watching their confidence grow and showing them that they are enough!
